Are you someone who cooks with passion and have extensive experience in managing a large kitchen brigade? Are you a culinary mastermind with an eye for detail? At Van der Valk Hotel Eindhoven we have a position available as Chef de Cuisine, being Overall Chef cook.


As Chef de Cuisine / Overall Chef Chef you will be leading the kitchen brigade in collaboration with the Kitchen Manager and together you will manage a team of about 40 employees in the kitchen. You make an important impact on the culinary level as well as the organisation and operation of the company. You will be operationally in charge of all our culinary outlets: à la carte restaurant Martinus, the Buffet, hotel bar Ozzo Food & Drinks and 040 Congress & Events.


What can a working day bring you?

  • Coordinating and controlling the most efficient and effective preparation process possible;

  • Coaching, motivating and training your team;

  • You will determine recipes and menus, based both on content knowledge and understanding of the market and margins/price settings;

  • You are responsible for the entire kitchen brigade, the dishes and the warehouse which you manage cooperatively from operations;

  • You work strictly according to HACCP regulations;

  • In addition, you are a coaching leader and inspire your team, without losing sight of efficiency and gross margin;

  • You have insight into the efficient rostering of employees, keeping an eye on productivity targets;

  • Besides your responsibility for the kitchen team, you manage kitchen procurement and ensure its quality and continuity. You manage figures without losing sight of the human aspect of your job.

Job requirements

What qualities and experience make us happy?

  • Leadership experience;

  • A completed chef training (niv.4, independent working chef) and/or several years of experience in a similar position;

  • Leadership skills, flexibility and stress-resistance;

  • Independence: you can organise, plan, cooperate and make decisions;

  • Creativity and an eye for detail;

  • You are a coaching leader and culinary creative;

  • Representative, hospitable and service-oriented;

  • Flexible (including holidays).
